In 2021, our electricity production, which is independent of international commodity markets, amounted to 45 TWh - and the trend is still rising. In the future, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection will require us to hold additional backup capacities of 1000 MW in reserve in order to make a supplementary contribution to a secure and affordable energy supply in Germany, should the need arise. We plan to add up to 7,000 MW of wind and PV capacity by 2030, further diversifying our generation portfolio.
